Psicosomática: Anatomía y metáfora

Jorge C. Ulnik

In this paper the author begins by exposing the differences in settings required for the treatments of neurotic and psychosomatic patients’. He then proposes a technical sequence in order to make psychosomatic patients’ analysis possible: first, the "confession"; then, the construction; and finally, the interpretation. In this sequence, the anatomy undergoes a process by which it becomes a metaphor, and the body pain and symptoms can come into the language area and become part of a story; thus starting the process of elaboration.
